On Saturday January 24th, 2015, we will have a class from 9 AM to 3 PM covering the material needed to pass the Technician Exam to obtain an FCC license. At 3 PM, we will have the FCC exam. Those who pass will receive their FCC license and call letters in about a week. There is no charge for the class.

Those of all ages are welcome. Gary started when he was 12. It's a great parent/child hobby; morse code is no longer required. You will learn radio/communication principles, geography, interacting with foreign cultures, etc. If you speak another language, you can converse in that language to hams in other parts of the world.

This is not the same as what "hams" used to do. Today with a small transceiver, a laptop and an antenna in the attic, you can have digital conversations with people thousands of miles away.

Let Gary know if you wish to attend in order to get on the class list, and to have an exam prepared for you if you wish to take the test and get your license: 352-871-4279.

If you can't make this class, we will have others at the same location:

April 25th, 2015.
July 25th, 2015
October 24th, 2015
